Applications in prescribed form are invited for admission to Ph.D. Programme during the year 2014-2015 in the subjects mentioned below. For detailed information and application form, please visit www.ugb.ac.in (Admission / Notice section). Closing date for submission of the filled in application form is 28th November, 2014.

Eligibility :

Any candidate who possesses required Master Degree in the concerned subject or in allied subjects may apply for admission to the Ph.D. Programme.
Master of Science, Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy or any other discipline of the University of Gour Banga or of any other University whose degree has been recognised by the University Grant Commission are eligible to apply for the Ph.D. Programme in the subject in which she / he has obtained the Master's Degree or in an allied subjects (to be determind by the Departmentsl Board of Research Studies).
Foreign students will be required to produce clearance from the Government of India and / or other appropriate authorities. Admission into the Ph.D. Programme may be granted only to such foreign nationals who have obtained a research visa.
The candidates eho have been awarded research fellowship by DBT / DST / CSIR / UGC or any other Govt. recognized funding agency shall apply in prescribed form for admission to Ph.D. Programme.
Candidates who already hold an M.Phil. Degree shall also apply in prescribed form.

As per Government Rule.

Information sheet to be issued along with application form will contain other relevant details. Application Form & Information Sheet may also be downloaded from our website : www.ugb.ac.in.
Candidates obtaining application form from the website must enclose a demand draft of Rs. 500/- (Rs. 300/- for Reserved category candidates) drawn in favour of "University of Gour Banga", payable at UBI, Malda at the time of submission of the same.

Last date of issue and submission of form : 28th November, 2014.

Date of Entrance Test The Entrance Test of 100 marks (50 MQC questions of 2 marks each, all compulsory, with 1/3 negetive marking) Syllabus : As per NET (Subject Wise) Written Test will be held as per following programme : Duration of Test - 1 Hr. 15 Min. Commencement of Test - 12:00 Noon Reporting Time - 11:30 A.M. No postal communication will be made in this regard.	10th December, 2014 (Wednesday)
4.	Date of publication of the results of Entrance Test and names of those who are exempted	17th December, 2014 (Wednesday)
5.	Date of Interview in the respective department Candidates, who will appear at Personal Interview only, are advised to bring all the testimonials in original	7th January, 2015 11:00 A.M. onwards (Wednesday)
6.	Date of publication of the final result	9th January, 2015 (Friday)
7.	Date of Admission to Ph.D. Programme	12th January, 2015 to 14th January, 2015
8.	Date of Commencement of the course work	15th January, 2015 (Thursday)
